I had same problem. Solution is simple. You have to unroot it first.

download will start auto... It's stock elcair Wildfire rom installler. You can only run it in Windows. When you install it on your computer, then start the application, read the readme file first and just follow the instructions it gives you during the process. Installation will take about 10-15 min. Afterward you can update it to android 2.2 (froyo) no problem.
IMPORTANT
It is complete flash of your HTC Wildfire. You will lose all your data except data on your SD card!!! So, if you have something you want to save, backup it first to SD card. You will also lose your root and clockwork mode.
